Answered by Honest John. Yes is will have DPF. It would need one for EU4, never mind EU5. Avoid repeated short runs from cold starts. Be aware that the DPF will actively regenerate every 250 miles or so and this will probably happen while you are on the motorway. Use only the best diesel. Check the engine oil regularly for a rise in level. On the UK KIa forum thare has been much mention of the fuel consupmtion of the Ceed 1.6 CRDi car - which I thought had the same power train as the current i30 1.6 CRDi. As far as I can tell when regenerating the dpf there is a smell like burning rubber from the rear driver's side of the car and the engine/exhaust note sounds deeper, also fuel economy drops by about 3-5 mpg temporarily. I haven't noticed any loss of power though.
