It seems that Volvo lists the same strut assemblies for the V70, V70 AWD, and XC70 from '01-'07. You may have to order from the dealer and use the VIN and suspension code found on the drivers front fender (the last line on the right hand column).
What octane is needed depends a lot on how the car is driven. Drive with a heavy foot or a trailer, then I'd recommend the higher octane. Drive like there is an egg between your foot and the pedal and not much load (trailer or mountains) and 87 octane works best.
